Ep 2: A Tradition of Excellence- 1969 Swimming and Diving

Many Prep students today take the outcome of the annual state swim meet as a given. Prep Swimming has been unrivaled by any other program, just last year winning its 14th consecutive state title. But it wasn’t always this way. In the late 1960’s, Westside and Lincoln East dominated the competitive landscape in swimming. The 1969 Prep swim team was able to claim its first state championship, defeating Westside by about 70 points.

In recent months at Prep we’ve seen the opening of the Lannon Learning Commons-  the latest addition to the campus. But many students today may be unaware of what previously occupied  part of that ground- The tin gym-. A name fondly remembered by nearly 40 years of prep students.
