We’ll explore how Julie turned her diagnosis into a mission of advocacy, writing, and community support and how her love and work partnership with Adam strengthens their relationship and resilience. We learn about creating a remarkable life with MS, the importance of communication and advocacy, and the touching ways they parent their son, Jack. Don’t miss their inspiring insights and uplifting messages that show how life can still be influential and fulfilling post-diagnosis, including • The Challenges and Advocacy of Living with MS • Parenting with a Chronic Illness • Creating a Safe and Empathetic Community • Writing the Book: Challenges and Inspirations • Adapting to Physical Limitations • Building a Supportive Community plus much more... More About Our Guests: Julie A. Stamm was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 2007. Following her diagnosis, Julie made it her mission to educate, advocate, and support others battling chronic illnesses. She works tirelessly to help lessen the burden each patient has to bear. Her efforts have given her the opportunity to work with physicians, patients, and foundations across the globe. After the birth of her son in 2016, Julie shifted her focus to supporting the children of parents with a chronic illness. Her children’s book, “Some Days: A Tale of Love, Ice Cream, and My Mom’s Chronic Illness,” was created to normalize differing abilities and amplify how each of us can thrive despite the challenges. In 2023, Julie co-created ’52 Essential Inclusion Skills – An A-to-Z Guide to Kindness, Compassion, and Respect for Diverse Abilities’ with Mind Brain Parenting’s Dr. Jenny Woo. The movement Julie has created has changed the apologetic tone and transformed the child and parent’s experiences into uplifting stories that highlight the patient’s resilience. Julie is committed to representing the underrepresented. Through her work, she has brought awareness and understanding to some of the many diverse abilities that can impact our lives, directly or indirectly.   Adam Romsdahl is a dedicated advocate, father, and special education paraprofessional with a passion for healthcare and community support. He met his wife, Julie Stamm, in 2013. From the beginning, Adam became a steadfast supporter in her journey, standing by her side in advocacy and raising awareness for multiple sclerosis. Together, they welcomed their son, Jack, in 2016, who has become a source of inspiration and joy for the family. Adam’s commitment to his family and work as a disability advocate reflects his deep dedication to resilience, inclusivity, and creating a positive impact in his community.
