Veteran suicide is still one of the most urgent conversations we need to have, and this episode goes straight to the heart of it. Darshan Gabriel Shanti, veteran, transformational speaker, poet, comedian, and founder of Saving Our Veterans, shares his powerful story of military struggle, personal growth, surviving a major rollover car accident, and finding a renewed mission to help veterans stay alive, find hope, and rebuild purpose. In this Chaos Alchemist podcast episode, we talk about what veterans really need when they are in a dark place, why listening can matter more than advice, how reaching out first can save a life, and why pain, trauma, depression, and suicidal thoughts do not have to become the end of someone’s story. This conversation is for veterans, military families, first responders, trauma survivors, and anyone who wants to better support someone who may be silently struggling. Darshan also shares his poem Stay, a powerful message for veterans who feel lost, hopeless, or alone. You’ll hear how Darshan went from being a struggling Army medic to becoming a transformational speaker and poet focused on helping veterans turn trauma into triumph. Steve and Darshan discuss why people in crisis often will not ask for help, why loved ones need to reach out first, how negative thought loops can be interrupted, and how one small shift in perspective can become the beginning of healing. Darshan also opens up about his near-fatal rollover accident in Montana, the injuries that changed his life, and how that second chance helped him focus his mission on Saving Our Veterans. This episode is a reminder that your past is not a life sentence, your pain is not your identity, and one honest conversation can help someone choose to stay. #VeteranSuicideAwareness#VeteranMentalHealth#SavingOurVeterans#TraumaToTriumph#ChaosAlchemistPodcast

The Internet Makes Us Hate People We’d Like in Real Life

Real conversations can change the way you see people, places, and even yourself. In this episode, Steve McHale talks with Jon Francois from the Delicious Culture Podcast about podcasting, creativity, online outrage, food, pop culture, Vermont, Chicago, class division, and why the world is not as hateful as the internet often makes it seem. This conversation is for anyone who feels burned out by social media arguments, political division, Reddit comment sections, online judgment, or the constant “us versus them” mindset. Steve and Jon explore how podcasts, everyday stories, travel, culture, and honest conversations can help us find common ground with people who may seem different on the surface. They also talk about the creative evolution of podcasting, the challenge of changing formats, what it means to build a voice over time, and why connection often starts with simple topics like food, TV shows, life updates, and where we come from. What You’ll Learn / Highlights You’ll hear an honest discussion about being “terminally online,” how people act differently behind screens, why places like Vermont, Connecticut, Gary, Chicago, and the Bahamas are more complex than their reputations, and how real life is usually more nuanced than online narratives make it seem. Steve and Jon talk about how podcasting can evolve over time, especially when a creator moves from one format to another and has to rebuild their voice, confidence, and direction. They explore why online culture can make people harsher, more judgmental, and more divided than they would ever be in face-to-face conversations. The conversation breaks down how travel and local culture reveal the hidden layers of places like Vermont, Connecticut, Gary, Chicago, and the Bahamas beyond the tourist image or negative reputation. They also discuss how food, pop culture, everyday life, and personal stories can become easy entry points for deeper conversations, better understanding, and real human connection. #HumanConnection #PodcastInterview #OnlineCulture #CommonGround #RealConversations

Use This NLP Trick to Change How You Feel Fast

Feeling stuck in stress, negative emotions, old patterns, or low motivation? In this episode of The KS Alchemist Podcast, Chuck breaks down how Neuro Linguistic Programming, also known as NLP, can help you understand the way your mind creates emotions, habits, reactions, and personal change. You’ll learn how motivation is stored in the body, how submodalities shape your experience, and how simple NLP techniques can help you shift the way you feel in real time. This conversation is for anyone who wants to stop reacting on autopilot, take back control of their subconscious mind, and start creating better emotional patterns. We talk about NLP anchoring, motivation techniques, changing negative emotions, the conscious and unconscious mind, being at cause versus being at effect, and how your language shapes your reality. If you’ve ever felt controlled by stress, anger, fear, people pleasing, excuses, or old habits, this episode gives you practical tools to interrupt those patterns and choose a better response. You’ll learn how NLP submodalities work by changing the pictures, sounds, and feelings connected to your memories and emotions. Chuck explains how to increase motivation, reduce negative self-talk, and shift emotional intensity by changing the “recipe” your brain uses to code experiences. You’ll also hear why taking personal responsibility does not mean everything is your fault, but it does mean you can take action in the physical world to change your results. The episode also includes a guided NLP spinning emotions technique designed to help you lower the intensity of a negative feeling. Finally, you’ll discover how your everyday language can either reinforce old patterns or help your unconscious mind move toward better results, stronger habits, and more personal ownership. sub modalities #NLP#NeuroLinguisticProgramming#MindsetShift#EmotionalHealing#PersonalDevelopment

Why You Keep Repeating Patterns That Hurt You

Are you tired of repeating the same bad habits, emotional patterns, or self-sabotaging choices even when you know they’re holding you back?  In this episode, we break down Neuro Linguistic Programming, also known as NLP, and how it can help you take control of your thoughts, emotions, habits, and behavior. Chuck Hendricks, a master certified NLP practitioner, explains how NLP works, why change does not always have to take months or years, and how your unconscious mind plays a major role in the results you keep getting in life. You’ll learn why willpower alone often fails, how your focus shapes your outcomes, and why moving toward what you want is more powerful than running away from what you do not want. This conversation is for anyone interested in personal development, mindset, emotional freedom, habit change, weight loss motivation, self-improvement, unconscious patterns, and learning how to reprogram your mind for better results. What you’ll learn in this episode:  How NLP helps you understand and change subjective experience Why people keep repeating painful habits even when they want to stop How toward motivation creates lasting change compared to away motivation Why focusing on the final outcome can help you stay motivated when the process feels overwhelming
