Abdominal Pain- Acute Appendicitis and The Differentials

The most common presentation to the surgical outpatient unit is an acute abdomen and appendicitis tops that list. In this podcast, the first in a 2 part series on appendiceal pathologies, we focus on the presenting complaints of various acute abdominal diseases, their signs, management and finally coming to a diagnosis. Along with diverticulosis, the podcast offers a brief overview of the pathophysiology and management of the same.

Heartburn is one of the common complaints in an outpatient consultation. Oesophagal reflux of acid is the most common cause of esophagitis. This podcast focuses on the normal oesophagus, Barrets's, Achalasia, Adenocarcinoma vs Squamous carcinoma and tracheo-oesophagal fistula.
