Episode 4 - How to source coffee fairly with Karl Wienhold, author to No Free Refills

Karl Wienhold has long been working in the coffee sourcing realm. He is currently living in Colombia directing his own exporting business while spearheading a new way to import and export coffee among specialty coffee roasters to ultimately deliver a more sustainable livelihood for coffee producers. Since the original recording of this podcast, his book No Free Refills has been picked up by Roast to be published in 2020. However, he is still receiving pre-orders on his site: nofreerefillsbook.com. In addition, since the recording of this podcast, Direct Origin Trading has rebranded as Cedro Alto - Coffee Farmers' Collective and can now be found at cedroaltocoffee.com though all directorigin.com pages are redirecting. Green Collective as an umbrella brand is still in negotiations with the potential members. Strap in folks; we get technical and dive deep into the world of coffee sourcing and what it really takes to make it fair from farm to cup.
