Rehearsing Presence: Why peace isn't waiting on the other side of the next mountain.
Rehearsing Presence
Why peace isn't waiting on the other side of the next mountain.
A Haitian proverb reminded me of a lesson I didn't fully understand until years later.
"Dèyè mòn gen mòn."
Beyond the mountains, there are more mountains.
So many of us believe peace is waiting on the other side of the next achievement.
The next ten pounds.
Balanced hormones.
The next promotion.
The next certification.
The next season of life.
But what if the life you've been waiting for isn't waiting at all?
In this deeply personal episode, I share a story from my years living in Haiti, the unexpected lesson I learned in a simple backyard over a glass of homemade limeade, and why that memory has shaped the way I think about health, identity, success, and the life we're creating.
We'll explore why so many women do everything "right"—improve their health, lose weight, balance their hormones, build successful careers—and still find themselves asking:
"Why don't I feel like myself?"
This conversation is also the beginning of something new.
It's the foundation of The Edited Woman: Mind • Body • Time, a philosophy built around the three places through which we experience every day of our lives: our thoughts, our physical well-being, and the way we spend our time.
If you've ever felt like you're constantly chasing the next goal while missing the life unfolding right in front of you, this episode is for you.
In this episode, we'll explore:
• The Haitian proverb Dèyè mòn gen mòn and its meaning
• Why achievement doesn't always bring peace
• Identity after weight loss, hormone balance, or major life change
• Mindset, midlife, menopause, and personal growth
• The connection between mind, body, and time
• How to stop postponing your life while you're waiting for the next mountain
If this episode resonates with you, I'd love to continue the conversation inside The Edited Woman Facebook community.
Because transformation isn't just about becoming someone new.
It's about learning to be fully present while you're becoming.
