THE NEXT is a monthly podcast from The Female Athlete Project. Each episode, futurist and former athlete Reanna Browne joins Chloe and Bez to explore what’s changing in women’s sport, before it hits the headlines. We shine a light on the pockets of the future already here - the signals of change that are quietly [or not-so-quietly] reshaping women's sport in the present. Not to predict what’s coming, but to notice what’s already in motion. This week, we discuss four signals of change around how community women's sport is going global— and the shadow system running alongside sport that's making it happen.  *** MORE THAN A GAME GAME, the ultimate women’s sports trivia game is finally here: Grab your copy now: https://thefemaleathleteproject.com/collections/all-products-collection [https://thefemaleathleteproject.com/collections/all-products-collection] Plus, The Women's Sports Fan Club is here. beyond the game: meet sports journalist + commentator emma lawrence

This year, Emma Lawrence became the first woman in history to play-by-play commentate an NRL game. But behind that epic achievement is 15 years of hustling in the sports media industry. From starting as an unpaid intern at the Parramatta Eels to becoming one of the most recognisable Rugby League voices on both Fox Sports and Channel Nine, Emma opens up on how her work ethic and determination have guided her career and shares plenty of advice for those looking to find their way in the sports media industry. The ‘Beyond the Game’ podcast series has been developed in collaboration with the New South Wales Office of Sport. [http://careers.tool.sport.nsw.gov.au] Part of the Her Future in Sport initiatives, we’re helping the Office of Sport to light the spark of inspiration in young women and adolescent girls to show the breadth of interesting and fulfilling careers across the broader sports sector. From creative to curious, scientific to sporty, we want every girl to see that there is a place for her in a sports career. Explore the possibilities at the Her Future in Sport Quiz [http://careers.tool.sport.nsw.gov.au]: careers.tool.sport.nsw.gov.au [http://careers.tool.sport.nsw.gov.au] *** Join us for the ultimate warm-up for Women's State of Origin Game 2. tameka yallop's journey to becoming the brisbane roar's most-capped womens player

Tameka Yallop is the second-highest goal scorer in A-League Women's history. And when you look back upon her career, there’s little wonder why. By 12 years old, Meeks was already playing in Open Women's football teams and just four years later made her Matildas debut. By 17,  she was playing in the inaugural season of the W-League, which set her up for success in some of the world’s best football leagues – playing in seven different countries throughout her career.   Now in 2026, she’s back raring to go, where it all began at the Brisbane Roar. You can watch Tameka and the Brisbane Roar during this weekend’s A-League elimination finals, live and free on 10.com.au.
