McCoy began his journey at Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU), where he discovered his passion for research. His interests then led him to the prestigious University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where McCoy served as a research assistant and helped develop novel imaging technology to improve patient outcomes associated with radiation therapy.
