Last year, singer Summer Walker received a lot of flack for social anxiety. People didn’t believe her. They said it was all for show. She look uninterested in her performances as if she didn’t want to be be there. She probably didn’t because it was nerve-wracking. Add that on top of her new found fame at the time. As someone who closely identifies with the mental illness, I took great offense. Social Anxiety doesn’t “look” a specific way.
