This week, Matt and Pat sit down with James Ellis, a project architect at Jeremy Blake Architects, at their London office to discuss the profession and practice of 'conservation architecture' and why 'adaptive re-use' is central to their philosophy when engaging with the historic built environment. James also explores the modern day pathway to becoming an architect in Britain and offers his thoughts on the progress and state of the industry as a whole.

Episode 3 - Live from Ukraine - an interview with Stefaniia Topylko from the Lviv Heritage Bureau

Join Matt and Pat live from Lviv, Ukraine during a work project to document and survey a historic university building damaged by a drone strike earlier this year. The episode includes an interview with Stefaniia Topylko, Deputy Director of the Heritage Bureau in Lviv, who shares her thoughts on heritage within Ukraine as a whole and the impact the war has had on heritage protection within the country.

In this episode, Matt and Pat dive into the life and death of the Crystal Palace of the 1851 Great Exhibition in London. This includes a detailed investigation of the buildings construction, materials, challenges, successes and failures, as well as how it met its unfortunate end in November of 1936.
