Episode 3: Intellectual Friendship with Boyd Taylor Coolman and Jeremy Wilkins

In this episode, we are joined by two members of the Boston College Theology Faculty, Boyd Taylor Coolman [https://www.bc.edu/bc-web/schools/morrissey/departments/theology/people/faculty-directory/boyd-taylor-coolman.html] and Jeremy Wilkins [https://www.bc.edu/bc-web/schools/morrissey/departments/theology/people/faculty-directory/jeremy-wilkins.html]. Boyd is an historical theologian of medieval Catholicism and Jeremy works on both Lonergan and Thomas Aquinas. Jeremy is also the director of the Boston College Lonergan Institute. In addition to being faculty colleagues, Boyd and Jeremy happen to be good friends who live in the same Providence, RI neighborhood. They commute up to Boston several times a week together and so I asked them how their car-ride conversations have informed their teaching and their thinking. We also talked about how Lonergan's neo-scholastic textbooks fit between medieval and modern theology in general and theologies of the Trinity specifically.  The Lonergan Institute Podcast is a production of Seton Hall's Bernard J. Lonergan Institute [https://www.shu.edu/lonergan/].  Intro and outro music is "Track 14," from Ghosts II, by Nine Inch Nails, used under a Creative Commons License.

Episode 2: Art and Self-Presence with Lyle Enright

In this episode of the Lonergan Institute Podcast, we are joined by Lyle Enright. Lyle is an author, editor, and scholar who works in the design studio at Street Psalms [https://streetpsalms.org/], "a global network committed to developing incarnational leaders in vulnerable urban communities." Our wide ranging discussion covers post-modern philosopher, theological questions explored in Russian literature, the kinds of self-presence people bring to social media, and how Lonergan's thought might help people make better art, but especially to tell better stories.  A few resources Lyle mentioned: - Recordings of Patrick Byrne's "Insight & Beyond" course [https://www.bc.edu/bc-web/academics/sites/the-lonergan-institute/online-course.html] from the BC Lonergan Institute. Episode 1: From Insight to Microsoft with Taylor Black

In our inaugural episode of The Lonergan Institute Podcast, Director Jonathan Heaps speaks with Taylor Black, Director of AI & Venture Ecosystems in the Office of the CTO at Microsoft. Taylor studied Lonergan with (former Seton Hall Toth-Lonergan Professor) Michael Stebbins at Gonzaga University and then went to Boston College for an M.A. in Philosophy to learn more. He also earned a J.D. from Boston College Law, but his tech side-hustles led him, little by little, back to Seattle, WA and into the offices at Microsoft. Taylor shares how his study of Lonergan and his wide-ranging interests as a young person prepared him to wear many exciting hats working for one of the world's tech giants.
