It was vibes having Amit in the lounge space as we got to know the founder of One For The City, which takes place next weekend in Edmonton. He shared his journey in the culture and broke down the lore behind OFTC, widely recognized as western Canada's premier street dance battle. Kuya has always been somewhat of a mysterious figure. We've been knowing about this man but our paths had yet to cross so when he told us he was ready to share his journey as a producer and artist from the days of The Happy Unfortuanate - the WCMA-nominated hip hop group he shared with Malcolm Jay - to a track he produced with Dumbfounded and Breezy Lovejoy a/k/a Anderson Paak on vocals, we were happy to let him do it in the lounge space. We were amped to welcome Max Winds back into the lounge space to catch up on his movements - most especially the release of his latest full-length, Love Me Before They All Do, streaming on all platforms with accompanying visuals on YouTube. Follow Max Winds on all socials.

We first caught notice of The Team as the closing act of a local dance school's Fall Showcase and we already knew after the curtain drop that we wanted to bring them into the lounge space to share their journey in the culture. We were blessed with the first appearance of Alison in the lounge space as she shared a deep dive into her lore as a filmmaker and how it led to the production of Bam Bam: The Sister Nancy Story, where the documentary nabbed eight nominations at the Canadian Screen Awards. Bam Bam: The Sister Nancy Story is streaming now on Crave and Kinema.
