Meno Quirks Episode 16 -Unlock the Flock!

Meno Quirks – Episode 16: Unlock the Flock!  Welcome back to Meno Quirks — and today’s episode is a little different. We’re recording on location at the Kenilworth Lions Annual Duck Race, where over 70 corporate-sponsored plastic ducks, proudly decorated with company logos, are racing it out down the water on Boxing Day. Each duck represents a business, each race supports a charity of the winner’s choice, and each splash brings a whole lot of community spirit. Among the flock was our very own Meno Quirks duck, complete with its menopausal rider — racing valiantly, wobbling confidently, and finishing a very respectable 5th place, along with a tightly packed group of fellow ducks in tow. So in this episode, we’re unlocking the flock, embracing the chaos, celebrating showing up, and proving that you don’t have to come first to make a splash. Enjoy! Let’s dive in.

Meno Quirks Episode 15 - Find your Inner Julie - a 'not so' Christmas episode

“Finding Our Inner Julie” In this episode, the conversation explores the often-frustrating experience of menopause-related forgetfulness. Nat and Sal, explain that these memory slips aren’t personal failings but are influenced by real chemical and hormonal changes in the brain.  One relatable example discussed is how, in conversation, we sometimes **say the wrong name—the next one that pops into our mouth—**even when we know exactly who we mean. These moments can feel embarrassing or worrying, but they’re a normal part of the menopausal transition. Rather than judging ourselves, the episode encourages compassion and humour. “Finding our inner Julie” becomes a metaphor for accepting these quirks, trusting ourselves, and letting go of perfection. It’s about recognising that our minds are adapting—not failing—and learning to meet this phase with understanding instead of self-criticism.
