This episode begins with a poem I wrote in high school called Little Miss Perfect. Looking back now, I realize I was writing about a pressure I hadn’t fully experienced yet. Today we’re talking about why Black women’s hair is still up for debate. From natural styles to colorful wigs, something as simple as hair can suddenly become a judgment about professionalism, personality, and respectability. Why does self-expression become controversial depending on who is wearing it?
