Beschrijving

Even through delay, discipline, and transition, God faithfully leads His people toward His promises. In this sermon, we are reminded that God’s commands are not suggestions. When He says stop, He means it. When He says go, He means it. Too often, our fear of being wrong becomes greater than our confidence in the Lord. But God does not follow our commands; He calls us to trust and follow His. Because God keeps His promises and fights for His people, our response is faithful obedience, even when the path is uncertain. For more info please visit: RGMCA.ORG

Ep. 146 | Deuteronomy Pt. 5

In Part 5 of our Deuteronomy series, Pastor Jason walks through Deuteronomy 6–7 and the central confession of Israel’s faith: “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.” From the Shema to the words of Jesus in Mark 12, we are reminded that the order of operations matters: love comes first. Before obedience can be rightly practiced, our love must be rightly ordered back to God. The commandments do not produce holiness on their own; they reveal God’s holy love and show us what love looks like when it is lived out in our homes, our families, our church, and the world. This message calls us to examine where we root our identity. Is it in our size, our history, our traditions, our doctrine, or our success? Or is it rooted first and fully in the faithful covenant love of God? God’s people are called to love and obey, because obedience without love becomes control and manipulation. But when love comes first, obedience becomes the faithful response of a people shaped by God’s grace. Scripture: Deuteronomy 6:4–9; Deuteronomy 7:6–9; Mark 12:28–34; Matthew 18:1–3 For more info visit RGMCA.ORG [https://www.resurrectiongmc.com/]

Ep. 145 | Deuteronomy Pt. 4

In this message, we look at the Ten Commandments and what they reveal about God, sin, and our deep need for grace. The commandments are holy, good, and necessary. They teach us what love for God and neighbor looks like, expose the places where our hearts have wandered, and show us the life God desires for His people. But the law itself cannot sanctify us. The Ten Commandments can reveal sin, restrain evil, and guide obedience, but they cannot make the human heart holy. For that, we need the grace of God made available through Jesus Christ and poured into us by the Holy Spirit. This sermon invites us to recover a faithful view of both law and grace: we do not reject God’s commands, and we do not trust the commandments to save or sanctify us. Instead, we receive the law as a gift that points us to our need for Christ, and we receive grace as the power that forgives, transforms, and enables us to love and obey the Lord.
