The coterie find themselves under the grasp of Kaya Brooks, a powerful kindred who owns the club they previously made a mess of. She may sympathetically let them off the hook, but at a heavy cost.

Chasing a hot lead on Prodigy, the coterie enters a nightclub right in the heart of Camarilla territory. They will uncover more questions than answers, and soon find that their every move is being watched.

The coterie treks into Chicago for the first time as a group. They delve into the heart of downtown to track down Prodigy, an up and coming vampire who has repeatedly broken the cardinal sin of vampire society. Along the way they learn more about the mysterious voice in their head, and the weird quirks of one another.
