A Neuroscientific Approach to Understanding Behavior

In this episode, we’ll dive into Dr. Bruce Perry’s Neurosequential Model in Education (NME), a framework designed to help educators understand how the brain develops and processes information, especially in the context of stress, trauma, and learning. We’ll also share strategies to help students regulate their emotions, creating a foundation for effective learning. Resources shared in the episode: Elementary Regulation Strategies [https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1tIKCo8m18HWL-UtbphpSAZojhhL-iDcN47pt6dM0bDA/copy] (over 150 regulatory strategies) The link will prompt you to make a copy of the Google Slides document containing all of these strategies. When in presentation mode, click the picture next to the description of each strategy, and the corresponding video will automatically begin, allowing your students to participate. Run times are included in the descriptions to help you choose strategies based on your available time.
