The Reach Recap
* Mark 4:1-20 * Path Hard-hearted. They hear the word of God, but it goes in one ear and out the other. Pharashies. Fixated on knowledge, wealth, power, and or self to ever see the goodness of God. * Rocks No deep roots. Falls Creek, everything is great, but then boom, life hits. God is good in the highs and lows. God never changes. God never promises greatness in the world, just perfection in heaven. Believing in God does not mean you will be the best basketball player, doesn’t mean you will start or star in your sport or whatever. God doesn’t need the “greatest” to reach people for him; he needs obedience and faith through everything to reach the lost. * Thorns Sin takes over. Living for Jesus is hard. Sin is tempting and easy. Lust is selfish, impatient, and a counterfeit for love. I think that is a good definition for all sin. Selfish (Get what we want), Impatient (NOW), and Counterfeit (Sin is never God, Sin is never Love, Sin is never Joy, Sin is never Satisfying). * Good Soil Good base, fixated on the goodness of God. Still have trials, sin still exists, but they trust the gardener to take away the thorns, and they grow and thrive. When your heart is in the right place, the Word of God grows bigger in your life than you can imagine, and God will use you to reach people you cannot even fathom. How’s your heart today? Hard (No room for God), rocky (Room for God if everything is good), tangled in thorns (Duallity leads to destruction), or is it ready to let God grow you into someone different and better?
