In this episode, I will be talking about the lesser-known Italian revolutions of 1820-21, specifically, the revolutions in the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies and in Piedmont Sardinia. I will be going into great detail concerning the secret societies operating within Italy, as they played such a prominent role during the early Risorgimento period. I will also be talking about Modena, Parma and Tuscany, though these states had a much smaller impact during this period. Episode 1 Part 3: Birth of an Idea (Italian History)

In this part, I will be wrapping up the previous two parts and shall discuss the end of Napoleonic rule in Italy. Before that, however, I will first be looking at the role the military played in fostering a sense of Italian nationhood. I will then move on to talking about banditry and secret societies within Italy and the role they played under Napoleon and will continue to play in the future. I shall then lastly discuss the economic implications of Napoleon's time in Italy before finally moving on to the fall of the Napoleonic order. The fall of Napoleon shall take up the largest portion of the episode as I shall be looking into the power struggles within Italy after Napoleon's demise as well as finally looking back on the legacy that the Napoleonic period would have on Italy.
