A standout in B.C. Lacrosse, Ryland Rees comes from a very athletic family. He was the youngest member of the U19 team BC, played at the U19 Team Canada Camp. Played in all 16 games his rookie year in NCAA Div 1 @  New York, Stonybrook University. He was drafted 2nd overall in 2019 NLL draft to the expansion team Rochester Knighthawks after being the 2019 East Defensive Player of the year and first team All-conference selection in 2018 and 2019.  Then he was drafted first pick in the second round to the Waterdogs of the PLL which was also an expansion team and then was part of the Championship team in 2022. He played for Team Canada in the World Lacrosse Championships. I could spend this whole episode just talking about Ryland’s resume, this guy lives and breaths lacrosse. Pro hockey player survives brain cancer and still play

Wade Macleod, 0ne of the most incredible stories in professional hockey - a man that had a decorated Div 1 hockey full ride scholarship to Northeastern University scoring 137 points in 149 games. Getting serious offers from AHL teams while playing Div 1. He turns pro enters the AHL, then he has a seizure in 2013 on the ice. FInds out he has a golf ball sized tumour in his brain. Multiple brains surgeries. I mean we talk a lot about strength and overcoming adversity but Wade Macleod is living proof that desire, will power and mental toughness aren't just billboard slogans. They are the core of what his accomplishments say about him. He was born and raised in the heart of Boston and went on to become a star player at Northeastern University. From there, he went on to play for two of the most iconic teams in the NFL - the New England Patriots and the Dallas Cowboys. Our guest has had an illustrious career in football, but it's not just his on-field success that makes him stand out. He's also known for his work ethic, dedication, and passion for the game. This guy still crushes workouts at 10PM then goes to play city league football at 11PM. Oh yeah and he’s got 4 kids and a beautiful wife who all look up to him as their hero.  He finished his football career up in the CFL and actually signed a one day contract so that he retired as a Winnipeg, Blue bomber where he currently resides with his family.
