As Christians, it’s vital to think and see clearly (Romans 12:1-2). This is a great difficulty in an age full of intentional distractions, snares, and confusion. We live in a world where we perhaps know how things work, but sadly don’t know what things mean anymore. Truth has become elusive. This is the devil’s scheme, planned from the beginning, as shown in the garden (Genesis 3). The world’s dogma is to live and learn by jumping from one experience to another always promising the next leap will fill the desires of the heart. This is a fallacy. The world without God is incapable of fixing itself (Romans 8:22). This is an undeniable historical fact. Regardless, the world tragically holds onto unbelief by claiming “I shall be safe, though I walk in the stubbornness of my own heart” (Deuteronomy 29:19). We have to help ourselves, and others, to abandon this fallacy by embracing Christ. Christ is the Way, because He is Truth & Life (John 14:6). Unlike the world, God keeps His promises. This to is an undeniable historical fact. In contrast, God teaches us to learn so that we know how to live (Psalms 25:4). God desires His people to flourish by increasingly reflecting His glory in their lives (John 17:17; Romans 3:23). This is called “Sanctification”. Romans 6:17-18 reveals something amazing: The Holy Spirit illuminates the Scriptures in our minds; which then captures our hearts; which then changes our will. This is what it means to walk with the Lord in spirit and truth. There is no greater joy in this life than being a Christian. For a Christian has the life of God in their soul. This is what it means to be born-again, born from above. The ultimate purpose in this life is to know God (John 17:3). To put it simply, the world tempts us to orbit around “ourselves and shiny objects” while God calls us to orbit around “His Son”. Apostle Paul (Philippians 3:8-11) goes as far to say that he counts everything else as rubbish compared to knowing Christ! Yes, Christianity is indeed a personal relationship with our Heavenly Father. There is no greater joy in this life than truly knowing God and genuinely loving those He has brought into our lives.It is then in this spirit, I offer the below suggestions and two books:If needed, ask Family, Pastors, and/or Sunday School teachers to provide you with a clear, detailed survey of the Bible as a whole. For example, I agree the Bible is about a person, Jesus Christ. The theme is a rescue story. In the Old Testament, the Person, Work, & Kingdom of Christ is predicted and Our Great Need for Him is made abundantly clear (Luke 24:27). In the Gospels, Jesus is revealed as the Savior of the World (John 1:29). In Acts, Jesus is preached (Acts 16:31). In the Epistles, Jesus, His Gospel, & His Ways are taught (Romans 3:21-26, Explains The Gospel and All Christ Accomplished). And in Revelation Jesus returns to fulfill all remaining decrees and promises (Revelation 21 & 22). This is how many preachers of old would explain the Bible. Ideally, I would follow Robert Murray M’Cheyne reading guide. Read John Bunyan’s Pilgrims Progress. A second classic, is J. I. Packer’s “Knowing God”. I argue reading our Bible and good Christian classics will assist and mature Christians greatly and quickly. Specifically, what I’m stating is by reading 30 to 60 minutes a day, and pondering on what the Lord is teaching, will pay spiritual dividends ten-fold. All it takes is just a little faith, desire, and time for the Lord’s ways are not burdensome (1st John 5:3).I pray you’ll find this letter, suggestions, and two works to be a blessing to your soul.

Understanding the Truth: 3) What truths does it teach about God, and about man in relation to God? 4) How are these truths related to the saving work of Christ, and what light does the Gospel of Christ throw upon them?  According to Pastor Derek Prime this is the most important question that is frequently overlooked.  He argues “Our people are not fed until they realize His centrality.” Applying the Truth: 5) What experiences do these truths delineate, or explain, or seek to create or cure?  For what practical purposes do they stand in Scripture? 6) How do they apply to myself and others in our own actual situation?  To what present human condition do they speak, and what are they telling us to believe and do?  Justifcation By Faith Key Statements: 1) Every man faces the judgement seat of God, and must answer to God for himself. The church cannot shield him from this.   2) Every man is a sinner by nature and practice, a nonconformist so far as God’s Law is concerned, and therefore can only expect God’s wrath and rejection. 3) Justification is God’s judicial act of pardoning the guilty sinner, accepting him as righteous, and receiving him as a son or daughter.   4) The source of justification is grace, not human effort or initiative.  5) The ground of justification is Christ’s vicarious righteousness and blood-shedding, not our own merit. 6) The means of justification, here and now, is faith in Jesus Christ.  Always keep Jesus central in your life and faith.   7) The fruit of faith, the evidence of its reality, is manifested repentance and a life of good works.
