Beschrijving

In Episode 56, C-Rod and Nick expand on a conversation from a few weeks ago about talent, character and public perception. This time, the conversation moves beyond athletes and into history, religion, media, America and the stories we inherit. After July 4th, C-Rod starts thinking about why even American pride feels divided now, and how hard it has become for people to talk about the country without immediately choosing sides. From there, the episode moves into founding fathers, history books, propaganda, church, money, philosophy, debt, modern comfort, overpopulation, neighborhood connection and the small ways people can start rebuilding community. It is part serious reflection, part uncomfortable debate and part classic You Good? derailment. The question at the center of the episode is simple, but not easy: Who gets to be good?

Ep. 55 - "Schfifty-Five" feat. Corey Bridwell

In Episode 55, C-Rod and Nick are joined by Corey Bridwell for a guest episode built around old nicknames, high school stories, Chipa Pizza, Liquid Cellar, restaurant life and the long road from being young and reckless to becoming a husband, father and head chef. The conversation starts with Corey realizing he still has Nick saved in his phone as “Nipples,” then moves through comic books, animation art, Whatnot rabbit holes, graduation parties, old Orlando bar stories, working in kitchens, learning from rejection, passion in hospitality and what it means when your name is on the door. Corey also opens up about family, mental health, home ownership, using anime and comics as an outlet, and the lessons he had to learn about accountability, excuses and how to treat people when they make mistakes. Growing up does not mean losing who you were. Sometimes it means learning which parts to keep, which parts to 86 and which parts still deserve to be the house special.

Ep. 54 - "Talent Is Not Character"

In Episode 54, C-Rod and Nick examine why athletes, entertainers and other public figures are often given more forgiveness than everyone else when their behavior crosses the line. The conversation starts with a recent airport incident involving a retired fighter and opens into a much larger discussion about alcohol, addiction, mental health, celebrity worship and accountability. When does “I was drunk” provide context, and when does it become an excuse? How many times can the same behavior be called a mistake before it reveals someone’s character? And why do leagues, organizations and fans keep protecting people who continue to generate money? Nick also reflects on his own decision to stop drinking, what changed when alcohol was removed from his life and the difference between supporting someone and enabling them. Struggle deserves compassion, but compassion does not have to erase consequences.

Ep. 53 - "Why Were We Allowed To Do That?"

Episode 53 of The You Good? Podcast asks a simple question: why were we allowed to do that? C-Rod and Nick look back at childhood memories that feel completely normal to anyone who grew up in the 80s, 90s, or early 2000s, but sound insane now as adults and parents. They talk about disappearing outside for hours, riding bikes with no helmets, drinking from hoses, building forts in the woods, playing dangerous games, growing up before constant technology, and the strange balance of wanting your kids to have freedom while also being terrified of everything that could go wrong. This episode is chaotic, funny, nostalgic, and very off the rails, but underneath it all is a real conversation about childhood freedom, parenting anxiety, and whether kids today are missing something we were lucky to have.
