36. A Time to Grieve

When I surrendered my heart and desires to Jesus, I went through a deep time of grieving. At the time, I didn’t know if grieving was something I should even do because much of it was surrounding what God didn’t want for me. This is when I started learning about the Holy Spirit being my Comforter. As I started embracing this, I realized He wanted me to take this grief to Him. He wasn’t angry with me for feeling it, and He didn’t want me to shove it down or pretend it wasn’t there. Right now, each of us is being sustained by something or someone. We continue to tell ourselves if we just had more of _____ or have a better connection with ____, it would finally sustain us. It might even seem to work for a period of time. What often happens, though, is it ultimately leaves us feeling empty. Who or what are you turning to for sustenance?
