In my last video, we talked about renting vs. buying in retirement, and y’all had a lot to say! So today, we’re continuing the conversation and asking a deeper question: Is a paid-off house really enough for retirement? For many of us, owning a home feels like security, especially when we think about retiring at 55, living on a fixed income, and aging as a single Black woman. But even when the mortgage is gone, the costs do not completely disappear. Property taxes, insurance, repairs, maintenance, HOA fees, utilities, and the physical work of keeping up a home still matter. This conversation is not about telling anyone to rent or buy. It is about asking the real questions before retirement: Can you afford to keep the home? Will it still work for you at 75? Does it give you peace, or does it create more responsibility than you want? Let’s talk about homeownership, aging in place, downsizing, renting, and what housing security really looks like when you are planning to retire at 55. #RetireAt55 #BlackWomenAndRetirement #SingleBlackWomen #RetirementPlanning #RentingVsBuying #Homeownership #AgingInPlace #WomenOver50 #iamKeliB

Why Feeling Off Is So Common for Black Women Over 40

Why feeling off is so common for Black women over 40 is a conversation we do not have enough. In this episode, we’re talking about why so many Black women over 40 feel off in this season of life, not just emotionally, but physically too. From chronic stress and burnout to hormone shifts, low energy, mood changes, brain fog, irritability, and feeling disconnected from your body, this episode explores what so many women quietly carry but do not always talk about out loud. If you are a Black woman over 40 who has been feeling different lately, this conversation is for you. Sometimes it is not one big thing. Sometimes it is your body trying to get your attention. In this episode, we talk about how stress, life changes, and constantly pushing through can make it easy to ignore early signs that something feels off. We also talk about the importance of paying attention sooner, being more proactive about wellness, and supporting your body from the inside out. This episode also opens up an honest conversation about intimate wellness for Black women over 40. Too many women deal with vaginal health concerns, imbalance, odor, irritation, and recurring discomfort in silence because these conversations can feel private, sensitive, or even embarrassing. But intimate wellness is part of whole-body wellness, and Black women over 40 deserve support, information, and prevention too. If you’ve been trying to figure out why you do not quite feel like yourself lately, this episode will remind you that you are not alone. Black women over 40 deserve more than survival mode. You deserve balance, support, and wellness that goes deeper than appearances. This conversation is about listening to your body, honoring what feels off, and taking your health seriously in this season of life. On this channel, we talk about life, wellness, healing, starting over, aging gracefully, and becoming your best self as a Black woman over 40.
