MonAlicia Bakes started 2 years ago out of Alicia Reedy’s kitchen. With a young baby and some savings, she started an at-home cookie bakery, shipping cookies all over the US and internationally. When the Black Lives Matter and #BuyBlack gained traction again in 2020, MonAlicia Bakes went viral. Alicia is still scrambling to bake and send out the many hundreds of orders that came her way. In this episode, I sit down with Alicia to talk about it all. From growing up in Maryland, to dealing with racism in school and work, to starting this booming business.
