It’s Monday and Lauretta has as her guest, Joyce Duriga, Editor of Chicago Catholic. Today they focus their chat across multiple issues of the Chicago Catholic, specifically the July 12th and the July 26th issues.  Lauretta draws attention to ongoing prayer requests for peace and for the release of Jimmy Lai, she adds on the request for prayers to unmask the Democratic Socialists.  Afterwards she welcomes Joyce and they discuss the “At Peace” memorial which honors the lives lost to suicide and offers a sacred space for prayer and remembrance.  The memorial was dedicated at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside on June 26, 2026.  Lauretta then gives a shout out to Karen Callaway, photographer for the Chicago Catholic who was recognized for her work with the St. Francis de Sales Award on June 19th.   They call attention to the celebration of Mother Cabrini’s Birthday and Canonization anniversary that was celebrated at the National Shrine of St. Francis Xavier Cabrini on July 12, 2026 also discussing her contributions.  Their final article focused on the Protection of Children Charter that was implemented to protect children. The charter which was implemented 25 years ago is still going strong and has grown as it provides training and education for knowledge and awareness for prevention of abuse. Father Anthony with Cristina and Tony, gather to discuss the goings on, and people in the Parish.  Father Anthony is joined by his guest Alice Babij (Bobby) today.  Father greets everyone and mentions that today’s honored saint is Sts. Sixtus II, Pope, and Companions, Martyrs then leads us in prayer.  After prayer Father talks about yesterday’s Feast of the Transfiguration and shares from its readings, reflecting on the state of our society and its rejection of Christianity.  After a break, Father welcome back Alice Babij (Bobby) to continue the discussion on the book previously introduced, “The Sword of Michael”, by Rev. Scott Haynes. The book explores the mysterious alignment of seven churches across Europe that appears to represent a sword. Father Anthony with Tony and Cristina gather to discuss the goings on, and people in the Parish. Father Koys takes us on another “brain wrinkling” walk as his mind turns to the upcoming beautification of Fulton Sheen scheduled for September 24, 2026.  Father Koys takes us on a deep dive into historical details around Fulton Sheen. As Father Koys dives into and shares details and short stories about his life and works, he shares his personal connection to him as well. Father opens with discussion about issues or topics that impact our society causing chaos yet we are not addressing or rather not properly addressing it and as such it is not being fixed and the reorder is not possible so we remain in chaos. After a break Father, leads us in prayer then moves on to talk about The Trinity. He references and reads form an article, “This Sunday, The Trinity Means We are not the Children of Divorce, by Tom Hoops.  Father elaborates on the significance of the trinity and discusses the article and its reference to divorce, highlighting that God must be the center of all relationships.  Father reminds us that our faith is a commitment and we bear responsibility to carry our crosses and hold firm to the Truth, and we should not allow our religion to be watered down.   St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish [https://ststanschurch.org/]
