As we continue our haunted October journey, we move away from our original routine and bring you a special episode. This week we pack up our microphones and head out to the wilderness to do this episode around a campfire. As we sit in the darkness, surrounded by nature, we share true ghost stories that either have happened to us directly or to someone that we know. These are the real untold stories of history, the true yesteryear untold.

Episode 4: Jane Toppan - Serial Killer Nurse

It's October, so we are jumping into the creepy, haunting and overall crazy stuff that has happened in history that you don't hear much about. For this episode, we take a look at Jane Toppan, sometimes known as "Jolly Jane" but really known as the serial killer nurse. Jane spent her life murdering people who were either helpless or got in her way. She admitted to killing 31 people, it is believed the real number of her victims is somewhere around 100. Jane has a really strange story that sounds like a horror movie that was derived in a Hollywood studio. Unfortunately for the 100 victims, this was not a Steven Spielberg production. Episode 3: Seppuku (Suicide By Self-Disembowelment)

That title is a mouthful, but so is this topic! Seppuku or known here in the United States as harakiri (pronounced Harry Caray - we see you Cubs) is a form of Japanese ritual suicide by disembowelment. There was a movie back in 2013 with Keanu Reeves called "47 Ronin" that kinda brushed on this... but let's be honest, none of us have seen that movie (and if you have, bless you for sitting through it all), so in our eyes, this is still an untold story in history that is deserving of further exploration. So join us as we take a deep dive (pun intended) into this unputdownable topic.

We take a deeper look into a time in history where when men couldn't afford a divorce or didn't want to risk going to jail for abandonment, they resorted to selling their wives (and sometimes kids). Literally, men would put a ribbon or rope around his wife's neck, arm or waist and then lead her to the market and auction her off to the highest bidder.
