String players, listen up! That famous oboe solo in Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony. We’ve all heard it, but how many of us actually understand it? I mean, it is kind of weird, right? What is that? Where did it come from? Why is it there? Is it just “Beethoven being Beethoven,” and if we don’t get it, that’s because we’re not genius level, like him! No!
