Youth on Rewind
What makes someone 1st, 1.5, or 2nd generation immigrants? What makes someone an immigrant at all? What’s a refugee? In this episode of Youth on Rewind, host Godwin Amouzou uses his identity as a framework to explore these questions. Coupled with the story of producer Tongjai Lee's familial immigration history and a conversation with Dr. Annie Zean Dunbar, a Forced Migration scholar, Godwin guides us in exploring why the words we use to describe immigrant identities matter. The central question here is, when we talk about immigration in America, who are we actually talking about? Youth on Rewind is a podcast amplifying the voices, stories, and ideas of young people.
