This is part of a year long reading of the Bible chronologically in a harmonized format. 1 Chronicles 3:1 - 5:26 - Records the sons of David born in Hebron and Jerusalem along with royal descendants. - Details genealogies of Judah, Simeon, Reuben, Gad, and half-tribe of Manasseh with territorial notes. Luke 22:54-62 - Peter follows Jesus to the high priest's house and denies knowing him three times. - The rooster crows, Jesus looks at Peter, and Peter weeps bitterly in remorse. John 18:15-18 - Peter and another disciple follow Jesus into the high priest's courtyard. - Peter denies being a disciple when questioned by the doorkeeper and warms himself by the fire. John 18:25-27 - Peter stands warming himself and denies knowing Jesus twice more. - A relative of the servant whose ear was cut off challenges him, leading to the third denial and rooster crow. Matthew 27:1 - Early morning, chief priests and elders plot against Jesus and bind him for delivery to Pilate. - They confer together to put him to death. Mark 15:1 - As soon as morning comes, the chief priests with elders and scribes reach a decision. - They bind Jesus, lead him away, and hand him over to Pilate. Luke 22:66-71 - At daybreak the council of elders assembles and questions Jesus if he is the Messiah. - Jesus affirms his identity as Son of Man and Son of God, leading them to declare no further need for testimony.
