On the Bats Left Throws Right podcast we will look to explore and further discover recurring anomalies that are consistent among high level athletes within all sports. Every athlete who plays professional sports is a product of years upon years of hard work and training. We want to hone in on the different types of these training strategies which yield the best results for those who practice them. In doing so we hope to highlight a new branch of sports neurology that focuses on fostering neuroplasticity and the ambidextrous nature of athletes whose success is often a product of nature, nurture and a combination of both. Hosted by Sal and Peter LoDuca.

The BLTR crew is proud to sit down with New Jersey native and the Lancaster Barnstormer’s bullpen catcher, Robert Rosado. Rosado brings to the Barnstormers not only a baseball background but one that includes degrees in exercise science and physiology and experience as a CrossFit trainer and competitive weightlifter. As a former gym owner and keen on recognizing the many injuries and rehab needs of athletes, Robert sought out a massage therapy license and continued specialization in orthopedic manual therapy. With a meticulous eye on body posture and athletic movement, Robert can detect imbalances and problematic areas long before injuries occur. Rosado is one of the most authentic and genuine individuals in the game and is endowed with a selfless desire to help athletes stay healthy and materialize their professional dreams of getting to the Big Leagues.

BLTR sits down with Jason Sherwin and Jordan Muraskin, founders of deCervo and uHIT Pitch Recognition and Training App. Jason and Jordan’s company deCervo was the main subject of Zach Schonbrun’s book “The Performance Cortex” which examines the neurological aspects of hitting performance among baseball players and how a better understanding of the human brain can provide more insight on proprioception and split-second decision making at the plate. deCervo has been instrumental and pioneering in expanding the conversation from the “mental” aspect of the game to the “neurological” component of athletic performance. In addition to uHIT Baseball their library of training apps includes uHIT Softball and uCall for MLB and NHL Umpires and Officials.

The BLTR crew brings on a polished and professional writer, the accomplished Zach Schonbrun. Zach is currently a senior editor covering business and technology at The Week news magazine and a contributor to The New York Times. Zach is also the author of The Performance Cortex a book that explored and dived into the neuroscience of motor skills in the athlete performance industry. Long overdue, Zach’s work is an important milestone in shifting the focus from the “mental” aspect of the game to the “neurological” component of athletic performance. Hosted by Jack Aylmer with co-hosts Sal and Peter LoDuca.
