episode Ripper?! Giles’ Secret Life EXPOSED cover

Beskrivelse

In this episode, we’re talking all about The Dark Age, and it really does change the way you see him. We finally get a proper glimpse into Giles’ past, and honestly… Ripper was a lot. This one feels much more personal than some of the other episodes, because it’s not just about a demon causing chaos, it’s about Giles having to face a part of himself he’s clearly spent years trying to bury. We end up chatting a lot about how strong the father-daughter dynamic is between Giles and Buffy in this episode, which is exactly why it hurts so much when he shuts her out. We also loved seeing Willow step up again, because every time she takes charge you get another little glimpse of who she’s becoming. And the whole episode just has this darker, heavier feeling that makes it stand out, especially once you realise it’s really about guilt, regret, and your past catching up with you. Let us know in the comments — did this episode change how you see Giles?

episode This Buffy Episode Makes Us SO Angry cover

This Buffy Episode Makes Us SO Angry

This week on Buffy Babes, we’re talking about Ted, and wow, this episode made us feel things. Ted seems charming at first, but the second that switch flips, everything gets so uncomfortable. We chat about Buffy being the only one who sees through him, Joyce not listening, the police treating Buffy horribly, and why this episode feels so real even before the robot reveal. We also talk about Buffy’s sad dungarees, Joyce’s date dress, Jenny and Giles slowly finding their way back to each other, and that rare sweet moment where Buffy and Angel actually feel like a normal couple for five minutes. It’s creepy, frustrating, weirdly funny, and somehow still such a strong Buffy episode. Let us know in the comments: do you skip Ted, or do you think it’s one of the best real-world horror episodes?

Two Slayers, One Huge Buffy Episode

This week on Buffy Babes, we’re talking about What’s My Line Part 2, and honestly, this episode has everything we love about Buffy. Buffy and Kendra finally team up, Spike’s big plan starts falling apart, Drusilla is restored to full strength, and the church fight is just so good. We chat about Slayer lore, why Buffy and Kendra work so well together, Spike being stressed beyond belief, and how this episode gives us so many layers of the Buffy world. We also get into the cute stuff too, because Willow and Oz are adorable, Xander and Cordelia’s accidental kiss is hilarious, and somehow all of that sits perfectly alongside vampires, rituals, bug men and chaos. Plus, we talk about the Buffy reboot drama, why fans are still fighting for it, and why Buffy does not need gore to be powerful. Let us know in the comments: do you wish Buffy and Kendra had more episodes together?

Wait… There’s ANOTHER Slayer?! Buffy vs Kendra

In this episode, we’re talking all about What’s My Line Part 1, where Buffy is trying to figure out her future while also being hunted by the terrifying Order of Taraka. We chat about Buffy feeling trapped between wanting a normal life and being the Slayer, why Kendra completely changes the show, and how this episode starts introducing the idea that Slayers can be very different from each other. We also get into Spike and Drusilla’s surprisingly sweet relationship, why Spike instantly became one of the most interesting characters in Buffy, Willow and Oz finally meeting, creepy bug men, awkward Angel moments, Slayer lore that still confuses us, and why Buffy and Kendra’s fight scene is SO good. Plus there’s a lot of chaotic best-friend energy, pregnancy updates, van conversion stress, and us getting emotional over Buffy for the millionth time. Let us know in the comments: Did you love Kendra straight away? And are you Team Buffy & Angel… or not? 👀

He Traded Buffy to Become a Vampire?! (Lie to Me Reaction) S2E7

This episode got dark fast, and we had a lot to say about it. In this one, we’re talking all about Lie to Me and wow… Ford is just so frustrating. The whole episode has that really uneasy feeling running through it, because on one hand you get why he’s scared, but on the other hand… no, sorry, you cannot trade Buffy and a room full of people just because you want to save yourself. We also get into Angel being his usual confusing, dramatic self, Buffy having every reason not to trust him, and Drusilla somehow being creepy and heartbreaking at the same time. There’s also something about that vampire club scene that is just so weird in the best Buffy way, and we ended up talking about how this episode really shows that growing up means realising people are more complicated, and sometimes much worse, than you hoped. And of course, we also talk about the Buffy reboot news, which completely broke our hearts. Let us know in the comments, do you think Ford was justified in any way, or was he just completely selfish?
