episode #2. The Death of Community & "The Come With Me" cover

Beskrivelse

Kee returns after a break to unpack a social media trend she’s been noticing more and more - what she’s calling “The Come With Me.” She reflects on it's impact and the tension between digital connection and in-person experiences. She ponders how online recommendations can foster a sense of community, but also fuel factitious hype, exclusivity, and gatekeeping. Especially from what she's experienced as a "L.A. transplant" among other "L.A. transplants".  Drawing from her own experiences, Kee makes a case for something more grounded: showing up in real life. She highlights the value of supporting local businesses, celebrating neighborhood spots, and recognizing the people behind them. Instead of over-consuming curated opinions, she encourages listeners to trust their own experiences, build genuine connections, and be more present for one another on and offline.
