Taken together, prosecutors argued that the surveillance, physical evidence, DNA, messages, family recognition, surrender, and alleged admissions formed a continuous chain connecting Robinson to the planning, shooting, escape, and attempted concealment. The defense spent the hearing attacking the weaknesses inside that chain rather than offering a complete alternative account of the killing. Robinson’s lawyers emphasized that the surveillance footage does not show a clear facial image of the shooter, the damaged bullet fragment could not be conclusively matched to the recovered rifle, and DNA evidence can establish contact without proving when or why an item was handled. They also raised questions about secondary DNA transfer, Twiggs’s immunity agreement, the presence of his DNA on some evidence, missing clothing, an empty holster that was seen but never collected, and the use of edited or enhanced video compilations. The hearing did not determine Robinson’s guilt because the state only had to establish probable cause, not prove the charges beyond a reasonable doubt. Testimony has concluded, but Judge Tony Graf has not yet issued a bind-over ruling.
