The Monticello Utah temple is the first of a new generation, President Hinckley announced in October 1997 the plan to flood the earth with small temples that could be built quickly and efficiently with all the necessary rooms and ordinances. This is a huge blessing to members living far from big cities and big temples. The Monticello temple was busy from the beginning, in the first 3 months almost 60 thousand ordinances were completed, and the temple was enlarged from 7,000 sq ft to 11,000 sq ft.
