We’re back!!! In this episode, we discuss the French novel Claudine at School by Colette, published in 1900, a shockingly queer story that follows the adventures of a fifteen-year-old school girl. It's a funny story full of drama, a lot of queerness, some pencil eating, and snails. We had such a great time with this book and we're looking forward to y'all giving it a listen! In this extremely long episode, our queer literary friends Joseph and Vee explore the 1891 novel Left to Themselves by Edward Prime-Stevenson. Potentially the first real queer YA story to be published, Left to Themselves is a novel that had been forgotten by most until its most recent edition.  Spoiler: It was an extremely wild ride. Our hosts discuss the author in detail, give you a full rundown of what happens in the story, and get completely sappy about the importance of this book in terms of the history of Queer YA. It's long but it's worth it.
