I hadn't written a song on my own since I was in high school. Two years ago, playing around on one of my ukuleles, this song came out in the matter of an hour or two. It is a prayer for self mortification. Arrangement and recording by Vincent Devito. "I can't get out of my head, trapped in my mind. A stranger in this body, stuck in time. The path I drag my heels down carves out the circle of my life. The self-reflection wonders, is it too late for it to die? Deliver me. I struggle with the wrong to prove that I'm right. Convinced of convictions, a convict of one side. The mask worn on the stage acts out the story of my life. The self-reflection wonders, what will it take for it to die? Deliver me. The plan that is surrendered reveals the way of all life. The self-reflection looks for what is looking through the eye. Deliver me."

I first met Michael Leonardi (more commonly know as Leo around the office) on the creative team for WWE. We both got fired from there years ago, and now we reconnect not to commiserate loss, but to celebrate the path to Self Discovery and joyful purpose. Leo talks about how stumbling upon Michael Singer opened up a whole new world to him and how the spiritual path is not only fulfilling but functional as we navigate through the world.

Welcome to my conversation with coach, speaker and host of the podcast "Something For Everybody" Aaron Machbitz. I loosely crossed paths with Aaron when he performed as professional wrestler Jaxon Stone. But I grew to admire Aaron from afar as I saw him plugging away at his podcast over the last few years, tackling the kinds of topics I find interest in. After losing his sister to suicide in 2018, Aaron aimed to answer the question of what causes mental suffering. He's explored the answer to that question and so much more on his podcast. He shares what he's discovered in his journey with me on this episode of Our Universe is Mental.

I have never written for the sake of writing. But a couple weeks ago, I sat down with the opening line in mind of, "At a Time before there was time, in a Place where there was no place, existed The No Thing." In a couple hours, I wrote my first short story just for me. But I thought I would share it with you.

On the first episode of "Our Universe is Mental with Jimmy Jacobs" I catch up with embodiment and transformational guide Jonathan MacCaul. Back in 2020, Jonathan guided me to connect with my body more, and through that initiation, I began to understand the connection between our bodies and the trauma we've experienced in our lives that have shaped our patterns of behavior. It's my intention and hope that through sharing this episode, listeners might learn to connect with their bodies in order to become more fully present and live their best lives.
