Episode 17: Vix Meldrew (Teacher By Day, Sex & Relationships Blogger By Night)

Vix is a teacher by day, but a life and relationships blogger by night, sharing the ups and downs of millennial life in a fun, engaging and uniquely honest way. If you like your content ‘no holds barred’ then this is your ultimate destination. Her award-winning blog has been featured everywhere from Pretty 52 to The Independent, while Vix has appeared on the BBC, Radio 1, LBC and Channel 5 discussing everything from stealthing to mental health. Her blog posts are sometimes cringingly honest, but always relatable, so its no surprise she was named one of the ’17 Influencers to Watch in 2017′ by MTV. The internet has provided Vix with a place to channel her creativity and connect with others in a refreshingly open way, but what’s fascinating about Vix story is that for a long time she had to keep her online presence completely secret – even undertaking a pseudonym so as not to jeopardize her career. Although crafting her online experience has opened many doors and enriched her life like she never could’ve imagined, it’s also caused issues of its own. I’m really excited to be joined by Vix to chat sharing the best sex positions, losing a parent, discussing mental health, being 100% yourself online and how her content has now evolved now she’s in a relationship. Episode 16: Juliet Rees Jones (Head of Campaign & Content, GLOSSYBOX)

Making her move into the beauty industry in 2014, Juliet Rees Jones consulted for online beauty and health platform Get The Gloss, managing their full organic and paid digital strategy before taking up a role at Glossybox, the UK’s no.1 beauty subscription service. Launched in 2011, the Glossybox luxury subscription sampling service changed the face of the beauty industry forever; it was heralded as the most innovative idea in years, delivering thousands of monthly teasers and samples to women across the country - all with the aim of encouraging discovery and injecting passion back into beauty. At Glossybox, Juliet is responsible for overseeing all digital, editorial and social media channels as well as curating bespoke marketing campaigns for Glossybox’s brand partners. She’s the woman who makes sure every customer feels part of a bigger online community of beauty enthusiasts, keeping everything on-brand and exciting at the same time. We talk about the beauty box industry as a whole, what makes a great digital strategy, why pictures of kittens and cupcakes isn’t enough, what’s next across the social landscape and why the Glossybox customer is so passionate about those little pink boxes. Episode 15: Aaron Gillies (Comedy Writer, Author, Mental Health Campaigner)

You may know Aaron by his alter ego Technically Ron. Aaron is one of the most hilarious, original and quick-witted voices on social media, with practically every tweet going viral and getting the attention of the media. His list of reasons his wife cries received nearly 50,000 RTs and was covered relentlessly in the press, so it’s no surprise Aaron landed himself a book deal – launching Lifeabet, An A-Z of Modern Existence, in 2015. Although Aaron offers lighthearted escapism and hilarious observations, there’s also a more serious side to him thanks to his well-documented struggles with mental health. Now a champion for discussing men’s wellbeing, he’s spoken about mental health for the Huffington Post, The Telegraph, The Metro and Sky News. All of this incredible work is culminating in another book that’s due to launch in 2018. We talk about how to crack a joke in 140 characters, our obsession with literal humour, how connecting online changed his life, landing a book deal and being a champion for mental health awareness. An episode that’s not to be missed.   Check out Aaron online: www.technicallyron.com [http://www.technicallyron.com]Follow Aaron on Twitter: @TechnicallyRon [http://www.twitter.com/TechnicallyRon]Join Aaron on Facebook: www.facebook.com/technicallyron [http://www.facebook.com/technicallyron/]Follow Aaron on Instagram: @TechnicallyRon [http://www.instagram.com/TechnicallyRon]Buy ‘Lifeabet: An A-Z of Modern Existence’ via Amazon HERE [https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lifeabet-Z-Existence-Aaron-Gillies/dp/1910536245/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1511182402&sr=8-2&keywords=aaron+gillies&dpID=51QrCFcx2hL&preST=_SX218_BO1,204,203,200_QL40_&dpSrc=srch]. Episode 13: Lauren Mahon (Blogger, Entrepreneur & Breast Cancer Campaigner.)

Lauren Mahon founded Girl Stole London in 2011 as a way to document her fun filled 20s. However, when Lauren was unexpectedly diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2016 at the young age of 31, her website started to play a more crucial role in her life. Since her diagnosis Lauren has unashamedly documented the ups and downs of the journey she found herself on, including discussing the financial implications of cancer, giving her top ‘this aint a pity party’ tips, and even starting the hashtag #GirlVsCancer for her to share images and thoughts in a positive and constructive way. Earlier this year Lauren also launched her own range of tit-tees with slogans including 'bangers, knockers, mammaries, fun bags, jubblies and lady lumps' to continue the conversation around breast cancer. Lauren’s writing and openness is infectious and she’s continuing to change the perception of being a young adult dealing with cancer, while keeping it sassy and humorous too. We discuss living with cancer, why sending a simple emoji can make someone’s day, how documenting her journey has helped her and what’s to come now she’s back to work.
