It’s all about something that often gets dismissed as ‘just a hobby’—but inTruth, it can be life-changing: the power of creativity, arts, and crafts in supporting mental health and emotional wellbeing. Zeenat explores: Why creative expression is essential—not optional—for mental health How creativity supports neurodivergent minds and different learners The physical and cognitive benefits of hands-on creativity And most importantly, how you—yes, you—can reclaim or nurture creativity in yourself or your children Are we measuring intelligence by outdated standards and missing the genius in our children and ourselves? “Creativity doesn’t just feel good—it’s good for us, mentally and physically. Fine motor development: Arts and crafts improve hand-eye coordination and dexterity, especially important for young children and older adults.  Problem-solving: Choosing colours, solving design challenges, or following patterns boosts cognitive flexibility.    Brain chemistry: Engaging in creative tasks activates the reward system in the brain, releasing dopamine, the ‘feel good’ chemical.
