Mothers and fathers are equally important. They both are pillars to the development of our children. Conceptually things are different for women and men. We need both perspectives and relationships. You don't have to be the biological father to experience fatherhood.  We are grateful for the uncles, coaches, clergy, neighbors, and step dads that take responsibility and have a positive influence in our community. Let’s take responsibility  Fatherhood is who you are not a title you carry As a father when you take responsibility you are in the state of control you are accountable for the way you behave and react. You are the authority  Remember we are all growing. Responsibility also leads to power. You have the power to penalize & discipline as well as provide love and compassion. They are equally important for the well being of raising healthy adults.  Everything doesn't need a hammer. Practice restraining and temperament You are the role model. You are the model of a responsible father or mother. 5 Keys to Fatherhood Honesty Compassion & Respect Fairness Accountability Courage Kelly Atkinson has over 25 years of leadership and management experience working in Corporate America. Real Talk-Focus on Fatherhood

This month we are focusing on Fathers.  We are featuring fathers-the untold stories of sacrifices, support and strategies of being a successful father.  A father is a male parent. Everyone has a biological father, even if they're not raised by him. You might call your father Dad, Daddy, Papa, Pops, or even Father. A father is someone who believes that by donating his sperm for your creation, he has done his duty in life. … A dad is someone who gets up every day and does whatever he can to put a roof over your head, clothes on your back and food on your table A good father loves his children, but he doesn't let them get away with murder. He strongly disapproves of his children's misdeeds, using tough love to prove a point. He does this through the power of his words, not his fists. . Psalm 103:13: "As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him." Proverbs 22:6: "Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it." This weeks guest is Dr Ira Roach the Founder/President of the Focus Forward Global Community Initiative Dr. Ira Roach III is a World Civility Ambassador.  He is the Ambassador of the Focus Forward Civility Initiative.  He is the Founder and Senior Pastor of the City of Refuge Church and the President of the Refuge Nation Network.  His candid knowledge of God and mentorship come from his numerous consultations with Master Mentors from around the globe.  He holds a Doctor of Divinity from Spirit of Truth Institute and a Doctor of Christian Education.  He most recently was awarded the Raymond Harlall Entrepreneurship Award and the Power of Collaboration Life time Achievement award on his 50th birthday.
