Beskrivelse

📖 Day 146 — “Grace and Consequence” 2 Samuel 12 David sinned, tried to hide it, and believed he could move forward as though nothing had happened. But God saw what was hidden and lovingly confronted him through Nathan. David confessed, and God forgave him. Yet forgiveness did not remove every consequence of his choices. This chapter reminds us of a powerful truth: God's grace is amazing, but grace does not erase responsibility. Sin leaves scars, affects others, and carries consequences. Still, even in discipline, God’s mercy continues writing the story. The good news? Failure was not the end for David—and it doesn't have to be the end for us either. Through Jesus, forgiveness and restoration are available. 🔥 Truth to Remember: God's grace forgives sin, but God's grace does not ignore sin. #TheStoryofScripture #Day146 #GraceAndConsequence #2Samuel12 #BibleReading #FaithJourney #GodsGrace #JesusChangesEverything Support the show [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2082142/support]

episode Story of Scripture--Day 173 "The Lord, He is God" (1 Kings 18) cover

Story of Scripture--Day 173 "The Lord, He is God" (1 Kings 18)

Day 173 “The Lord, He Is God” 📖 1 Kings 18 On Mount Carmel, Elijah stood alone against 450 prophets of Baal and issued a challenge that still echoes today: > "How long will you go limping between two different opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him." (1 Kings 18:21) Israel wanted God and idols. Truth and compromise. Worship and worldliness. But when the fire of God fell from heaven, every false god was exposed, and the people cried out: > "The Lord, He is God! The Lord, He is God!" The lesson is just as relevant today: ✅ False gods always disappoint. ✅ Divided hearts never find peace. ✅ God alone is worthy of our complete trust and worship. Every one of us must answer the same question Elijah asked: Who will sit on the throne of our hearts? ✝️ Mount Carmel points us to an even greater sacrifice—Jesus Christ. On Carmel, fire fell on the sacrifice. At Calvary, God's judgment fell on Christ so that sinners could be forgiven and reconciled to God. Today's Takeaway: Anything you trust more than God will eventually fail you. But the God of Scripture never will. 🎧 Listen to Day 173 of The Story of Scripture and be reminded that there is only one true God worthy of your devotion. episode Story of Scripture--Day 172 "The God Who Sustains All" (Psalm 104) cover

Story of Scripture--Day 172 "The God Who Sustains All" (Psalm 104)

Day 172 “The God Who Sustains All” 📖 Psalm 104 God didn't just create the world—He carries it every moment. Psalm 104 reminds us that creation is more than evidence of God's power; it is a testimony to His ongoing care. Every sunrise, every season, every breath, and every living creature depends upon His sustaining hand. The same God who feeds the birds, fills the streams, and governs the stars is faithfully caring for His people today. 💡 Key Truth: God is not a distant Creator who stepped away from His creation. He is the sovereign Sustainer who holds all things together. ✝️ Jesus Connection: Colossians 1:17 tells us, "In Him all things hold together." The Savior who died for our sins is the same Lord who sustains the universe by His power. 🙌 If God can hold the galaxies in place, He can hold your life together. Today's Takeaway: Stop focusing on the size of your problem and start focusing on the greatness of your God. 📖 Read: Psalm 104 🎧 Listen: Day 172 of The Story of Scripture 🔄 Share this encouragement with someone who needs to be reminded that God is still in control. #TheStoryOfScripture #Psalm104 #GodWhoSustainsAll #BiblePodcast #FaithOverFear #TrustGod #JesusChrist #DailyDevotional #ChristianLiving #GodsProvision #JohnBaldwin Support the show [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2082142/support]

episode Story of Scripture--Day 171 "God Provides in the Drought" (1 Kings 17) cover

Story of Scripture--Day 171 "God Provides in the Drought" (1 Kings 17)

Day 171 — God Provides in the Drought (1 Kings 17) When drought came to Israel, God didn't abandon His servant—He sustained him. In 1 Kings 17, Elijah learns that God's provision is often found on the other side of obedience. God fed him by a brook, used ravens to bring food, and miraculously sustained a widow and her son through famine. Key Truth: 👉 Obedience places us under God's provision. Lessons from Elijah's Drought: ✅ God's people may experience difficult seasons, but they are never abandoned. ✅ God's provision often follows faithful obedience. ✅ God can use unexpected sources to meet our needs. ✅ When one brook dries up, God already has another plan. ✅ The God who provides for daily needs is also the God who brings life where hope seems dead. The widow's flour never ran out. The oil never failed. And when her son died, God restored life. What looked impossible became another testimony of God's faithfulness. No matter what drought you may be facing today—financial, spiritual, emotional, or relational—remember this: God's resources have never been limited by your circumstances. > "And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." — Philippians 4:19 🎙️ Today's Big Idea: When God guides, God provides. Trust Him, obey Him, and watch His faithfulness unfold—even in the driest seasons of life. #TheStoryOfScripture #PastorJohn #1Kings17 #Elijah #GodProvides #FaithOverFear #TrustGod #DailyDevotional #BibleStudy #ChristianPodcast #GodIsFaithful #WalkingByFaith #ScriptureJourney #HopeInChrist #ObedienceAndFaith Support the show [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2082142/support]

episode Story of Scripture--Day 170 "Kings who Did Evil" (1 Kings 16) cover

Story of Scripture--Day 170 "Kings who Did Evil" (1 Kings 16)

Day 170 — “Kings Who Did Evil” 1 Kings 16 Israel's history takes a dark turn as one wicked king follows another. Baasha, Elah, Zimri, Omri, and finally Ahab lead the nation further and further from God. The lesson is clear: 👉 Leadership without God invites disaster. In 1 Kings 16, we see that sin is never isolated. What begins in the heart of a leader eventually impacts families, churches, communities, and even entire nations. Ahab's reign reminds us that when compromise becomes normal, spiritual decline soon follows. But this chapter does more than expose failed leaders—it points us to our need for a perfect King. 👑 Where earthly kings failed, Jesus succeeded. ✔️ He never compromised. ✔️ He never pursued idols. ✔️ He never led people away from God. ✔️ He perfectly obeyed the Father and laid down His life for His people. Key Takeaway: The world does not need more powerful leaders—it needs more godly leaders. And godly leadership begins with humble submission to King Jesus. 📌 Who is influencing your life? 📌 Where has compromise become normal? 📌 How are you using your influence for God's glory? "Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the Lord more than all who were before him." — 1 Kings 16:30 #TheStoryOfScripture #PastorJohn #1Kings16 #BibleReadingPlan #DailyDevotional #KingJesus #LeadershipMatters #Faithfulness #ChristianLiving #BibleStudy #GodsWord #WalkWithChrist #ScriptureJourney #ChristianLeadership #JesusIsKing Support the show [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2082142/support]

episode Story of Scripture--Day 169 "Seek the Lord" (2 Chronicles 15) cover

Story of Scripture--Day 169 "Seek the Lord" (2 Chronicles 15)

Day 169: "Seek the Lord" 📍 2 Chronicles 15 What does revival look like? According to 2 Chronicles 15, revival doesn't begin with a program, a strategy, or an emotional experience—it begins when God's people seek Him with their whole hearts. King Asa received a powerful message from God: > "If you seek Him, He will be found by you..." (2 Chronicles 15:2) In today's episode, we explored three life-changing truths: ✅ God desires a relationship, not mere religion. God is not interested in outward rituals without inward devotion. He wants our hearts. ✅ Revival begins with repentance. When Asa heard God's Word, he took courage, removed idols, and led the nation back to the Lord. ✅ The God who is sought is the God who is found. Throughout Scripture, we see God's grace toward those who turn back to Him. No matter how far you've drifted, God welcomes those who seek Him. The challenge for all of us is simple: What are you seeking most? Success? Security? Comfort? Approval? None of those things can satisfy the deepest longing of your soul. Only Christ can. 🙏 Today, make it your priority to seek the Lord. Not just His blessings, but His presence. "You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart." — Jeremiah 29:13 🎙️ Listen, subscribe, and share The Story of Scripture with Pastor John. #TheStoryOfScripture #PastorJohn #2Chronicles15 #SeekTheLord #Revival #Faith #BibleStudy #ChristianPodcast #DailyDevotion #JesusChrist #GodsWord Support the show [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2082142/support]
