episode Immigration Reform Fueling U.S. Worker Shortage cover

Beskrivelse

Recent studies suggest ICE raids and stricter immigration policies are worsening workforce shortages across the United States. Many immigrant workers fear deportation, especially in labor-intensive industries such as agriculture, construction, and hospitality. As a result, fewer workers are available to take these physically demanding, low-paying jobs. President Donald Trump claimed stricter policies would protect “Black jobs” and benefit U.S.-born workers. However, many of these jobs still remain unfilled across the country. Some experts argue these labor shortages also hurt U.S.-born workers and contribute to the failure of businesses dependent on this workforce. In this episode, I discuss the  impact of current immigration reform on America’s labor market. #workforceshortage #workershortage #labormarket  #immigrationreform #blackjobs Check out the webiste for more info http://treyevansthepeoplesvoice.com/ [http://treyevansthepeoplesvoice.com/]     #thepeoplesvoicepodcast #social issues Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research

Summer Travel Scams To Avoid

(Replay 2025) Summer travelers face an increasing risk of falling victim to scams targeting tourists. Fraudulent offers for vacation rentals, fake tour packages, and deceptive travel insurance schemes are just a few examples of the pitfalls waiting for the unsuspecting. Scammers often exploit the excitement and urgency surrounding last-minute bookings, leaving travelers vulnerable to financial loss or even identity theft. Staying vigilant, verifying service providers, using secure payment methods, and reading reviews—can help minimize the risks and ensure a smoother, safer vacation experience.  #summerscams #travelers #summervacation  #hotelscams #traevelinsurance Check out the webiste for more info http://treyevansthepeoplesvoice.com/ [http://treyevansthepeoplesvoice.com/]     #thepeoplesvoicepodcast #social issues Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research

The Death Penalty: Justice or Inhumane Punishment?

The death penalty remains one of the most controversial issues in the U.S. criminal justice system. In this episode, I examine both sides of the debate while exploring recent developments, including Florida setting a record for executions in 2025 and Ohio Governor Mike DeWine's decision to continue delaying executions despite his long-standing support for capital punishment.  #deathpenalty #capitalpunishment Check out the webiste for more info http://treyevansthepeoplesvoice.com/ [http://treyevansthepeoplesvoice.com/]     #thepeoplesvoicepodcast #social issues Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research

Will the United States still be in existence in 250 years?  The 250th anniversary of the United States becoming an independent sovereign nation is being celebrated this year . The original founding of the country is often referred to as the "experiment". Recent polls of Americans have suggested the "experiment" could fall apart within the next 250 years. Who's Watching You? Are License Plate Readers Helping or Hurting Us?

Concerns surrounding automated license plate reader (LPR) cameras continue to grow as questions about privacy, transparency, and government surveillance become increasingly controversial. Supporters argue the technology helps law enforcement solve crimes and recover stolen vehicles. Critics, however, question what information is being collected, how long it is stored, and who ultimately has access to that data. In this episode I review the issues surrounding this debate.  Check out the webiste for more info http://treyevansthepeoplesvoice.com/ [http://treyevansthepeoplesvoice.com/]     #thepeoplesvoicepodcast #social issues Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research

Locked Out of Democracy? The War Over Open and Closed Primary Elections

Conversations around the primary election process in the United States continue to intensify, particularly around whether states should use open or closed primaries. A growing number of reform movements have pushed states with closed systems to consider opening participation to independents and unaffiliated voters. Closed primaries are often criticized for excluding these voters and potentially limiting participation in the only meaningful contests in heavily partisan states. In this episode I discuss how primary elections work in the United States, the differences between open and closed systems, and the arguments on both sides of the debate.   #primaryelections #closedprimary #openprimary #votersuppression  #unaffiliatedvoters #twopartysystem Check out the webiste for more info http://treyevansthepeoplesvoice.com/ [http://treyevansthepeoplesvoice.com/]     #thepeoplesvoicepodcast #social issues Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research
