New Yorkers welcomed the Knicks home today after their historic finals win with a ticker tape parade in lower Manhattan. WFUV’s Lainey Nguyen went to the route where over a million fans gathered to celebrate. Juneteenth is a federally recognized holiday in New York. But in Nassau County, employees don’t have the day off like in other parts of the state. WFUV’s Xenia Gonikberg reports on a renewed push to formally recognize the day that commemorates the end of slavery in the US.
