In the year 2020, we find ourselves in a high stress, politically charged, social justice movement while attempting to maneuver a global pandemic. Tensions are high and views are at odds. The setting is a perfect breeding ground for conflict, misunderstandings, and poor communication coupled with high-intensity emotion. How can a businessperson, or a human being for that matter, manage their way through this minefield of potential conflict? In this episode, we discuss different types of conflict management, tips for how to approach conflict interpersonally and at work, and resources to help you continue your education on the subject. Lydia Cardona brings her years of traveling and living abroad, as well as training and expertise in conflict management, to challenge our perspectives on why conflict isn’t always a bad thing. We discuss how to find common ground, how to approach a situation with opposing views, and how to continue on the journey to becoming a better communicator. We had lots of fun, along with some deep discussions on this podcast, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Our TYCOONO TALK podcast host Bethany, interviews Melissa Gilbo and Amy Pocsik, Co-Founders of the Women’s Business League, to discuss how women’s networking is pivoting amidst this pandemic. The COVID-19 crisis has filled business owners across the globe with uncertainty about what’s to come. Conversation topics focus on pivoting strategies, do’s and don’t of budgeting, and relying on community feedback amidst a recession. Times are tough for business owners, that’s an undeniable truth. However, what happens when an already marginalized part of society gets hit with even more unexpected adversity? For the 12.3 million women in the founder’s chair across America, lack of access to things like capital and cash flow has been a continuous hurdle. The halt of the global economy adds another layer of complexity to the problem. Now more than ever it’s imperative for women to band together and drive relationship-based sales, as we all navigate how to continue marketing in the new normal to stay afloat/thrive. While traditional in-person networking is challenging with today’s restrictions, organizations like theWomen’s Business [https://www.womensbusinessleague.com/]League [https://www.womensbusinessleague.com]have pivoted to engage members through virtual avenues. Founded by two moms/corporate refugees, Amy Pocsik and Melissa Gilbo, the Women’s Business League has reignited the power of networking, especially during trying times. The core of their mission is inspiration and encouragement, values that drive the connections created amongst its members. Together, Pocsik and Gilbo, have created a safe haven for female entrepreneurs and innovators to come together, share resources, and promote their businesses.
