Passover, the Story

This discussion aims to provide a clearer understanding of the Passover supper and the practice of eating unleavened bread for seven days, while also summarizing the experience of the Exodus. This event marked the first time the Israelites were commanded to sacrifice and eat a Passover animal.

What is Truth?

This question is one of the most profound statements in Scriptures, spoken by an unlikely figure. The New Testament refers to him as Pontius Pilate, the Roman governor of Judea under Emperor Tiberius from 26 to 36 C.E. Although Pilate had never heard Yahushua speak before, it was Yahushua who had said: “I am the way, and THE TRUTH, and the life; no one comes to the father, but by me.” (John 14:6) Pontius Pilate directly encountered the man who was “the Truth.” Without realizing it, Pilate unwittingly revealed the truth when he responded to the question he had posed to Yahushua: “What is truth?” He ensured that his answer was prominently displayed at the execution site for everyone to see. Ironically, with this display, Pilate confronted the Jewish religious leaders with the reality of who they had unjustly convicted of blasphemy according to their law and wrongfully condemned to death. He made this clear when he wrote: “Yahushua of Nazareth, the King of the Jews.”

Do You Really Want To Go To Heaven?

To believe in the false doctrine of an immortal soul for humans or that the righteous, upon their death, will go up to heaven to live is to abandon sound scriptural teaching. This pagan belief system not only ignores the hope in the resurrection of mankind but abandons the true path to eternal life, one which Yahweh promised. The way spoken of in Scriptures is given by means of a promise of an Eternal Inheritance, and it is directly connected with the eternal possession of the Promised Land. The demonic doctrines that are professed by numerous religious traditions, having no basis in Scriptures, demonstrates why Yahweh and his Messiah were so adamant in their condemnation of such practices.

Messiah and the Sacred Name

The doctrine of the sacred name, as expounded by Yahushua, is demonstrated by the format for prayer given to his disciples. The opening line reads: Our father who is in heaven, sacred be your name. Here is the bottom line when considering a person’s heart and its ability to discern truth on its own. Every man is a liar, and no man is good. The only thing that can come forth from man’s heart is evil. Therefore, we cannot expect to find truth as a natural product of our mind or feelings. The source of man’s inability to follow Scriptures, as a result, is man’s own heart. It is from man’s mind that false ideas and doctrines spring. According to Scriptures, we must first control our minds and then set them to understand what Yahweh has to say. This instruction means that we must approach Scriptures with the attitude that allows the book to tell us what it is trying to say, not superimposing our own beliefs or assumptions upon it.
