Episode 5: Meredith Starr
Welcome to the 3 OMs Podcast, hosted by Cami Codell. Each episode is conversation with a friend or colleague in the fields of health & healing, and always begins by chanting AUM three times together.
We’re releasing this month’s episode early, because we’ve got an extra special guest…please welcome Meredith Starr, RDN! Meredith is here to discuss her journey to becoming a registered dietician nutritionist, her experience as a dancer & choreographer, AND the impetus behind partnering with Cami to create “Befriending Your Body” [https://www.allow-wellness.com/nutrition-therapy], a brand new six-week online group series.
Sensitive topics warning: eating disorders.
About Befriending Your Body:
There’s a lot of noise out there about what “self-care” means these days. It can be really overwhelming to be bombarded with rigid, restrictive, and often contradictory “rules” when it comes to feeding and moving our bodies, rooted in fear or control. Befriending Your Body is here to show you that it doesn’t have to be that way. We can learn how to care for our bodies in a kinder, gentler way, through:
* evidence-based, weight-inclusive, non-diet nutrition education
* clinician-facilitated discussion and connecting to a supportive community of peers
* trauma-informed gentle yoga, breath, meditation & rest accessible to all bodies
Self-care, health, & wellness should not have to control, punishment, or fear of our bodies & food. Our bodies are our friends, and it’s high time we treated them that way.
