Episode 8 - Still Neurotic After All These Years w/Perry Block

Sitting down with comedians from across the globe to find out why they are pursuing stand-up comedy and what they are learning about themselves at this stage in their lives. Follow us on Instagram @A_Bit_Later_Podcast Perry Block is a humor writer and stand-up comic living in Havertown, PA which is close enough to the Philadelphia Main Line so that he can wrongly brag he lives there. Writing has been a passion for Perry ever since he learned it does not require math. Since his early thirties, Perry has written humor pieces for multiple Philadelphia publications, and since 2010 he has published his ongoing Substack/blog, Still Neurotic After All These Years, now with over 1,000 humor pieces. While working in Human Resources, Perry created the Human Resources Comedy Troupe — an SNL-style sketch group for HR professionals — writing most of the material and performing in sketches and song parodies. Since 2023, Perry has been performing stand-up and sketch comedy throughout the Philadelphia area. Now 75, he says he has no regrets except for the nagging worry that not only has he measured his life in coffee spoons, frequently the coffee hasn’t even been hot.
