Getting Twistedlit

In this episode I meet with longtime family friend and the face behind Twistedlit, Asha Gibbs. During the pandemic, Asha started her own book club where she invites guests on here Instagram live and they discuss their current read while enjoying a drink of their choice (no milk). Asha and I talk about when our love for reading began and what made us start our book clubs. For the month of April, Asha and I will be reading Set Boundaries, Find Peace written by New York Times Best Seller Nedra Glover Tawwab.  Twistedlit book recommendations: Memoir: Zami by Audre Lorde  Sci-fi: Wild Seed by Octavia Butler Novel: Freshwater by Akwaeke Emezi/ The deep by Rivers Solomon  Essays: Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be by Nichole Perkins  Young Adult: Children of Blood and bone by Tomi Adeyemi

BOTM: Getting To Neutral - Trevor Moawad | Why Neutral?

Trevor Moawad was a renowned mental conditioning expert and strategic advisor to some of the world's most elite performers including Russell Wilson, Marcus Stroman, Nick Saban, Kirby Smart and Jimbo Fisher. In 2017 he was named the "Sports World's Best Brain Trainer" by Sports Illustrated. In chapter one, Trevor introduces neutral thinking to us and explains what it means to think neutrally. He explains the difference between just being positive verses being neutral while also emphasizing not being negative. Most of the time you may think, "well if I'm not negative I must be positive." and that’s not always the case and that is exactly where neutral thinking fits in. In this episode, I meet with book club member Noah Villeroel and we discuss how and where we can apply neutral thinking in our everyday lives.
