True worship requires both spirit and truth - genuine heart connection with God as He has revealed Himself in Scripture. Jesus taught that acceptable worship flows from hearts that truly know God, not from emotional experiences or religious activities alone. Real worship involves complete surrender of yourself to God, extending beyond Sunday services into every aspect of daily life. The extent to which you have died to yourself determines your capacity for genuine worship. God actively seeks worshipers who will approach Him with both authentic spiritual connection and biblical truth.

Rather than managing external behavior, we must examine our hearts and allow Christ to transform us from the inside out. When we're filled with Christ instead of self, we naturally become salt and light without striving.
