Beskrivelse

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2093758/fan_mail/new] Today, I sit down with Steve Wright for a wide-ranging conversation that moves from Japan to Jamaica while exploring faith, culture, identity, comedy, travel, and what it means to slow down in a world addicted to noise. Coach Wright joins me virtually from Jamaica (with me in Japan) as we discuss cultural differences, the shared human desire for peace and family, and the way travel can reveal both what makes people unique and what connects us across the world. In this episode, Coach Wright and I discuss stillness, social media, screen addiction, and the constant information overload shaping modern life. We talk about how phones, algorithms, short-form content, and “brain rot” compete against reflection, discernment, prayer, and real human connection. I also bring in Biblical truth about being still, hearing God, and learning how to slow down long enough to understand ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us. Coach Wright also shares insight from his move to Jamaica, his British-Jamaican background, and his reflections on cultural identity, belonging, and what it means to find home. Together, we discuss race, stereotypes, celebrity culture, comedy, cancel culture, character, and why people must be careful not to judge others by surface-level assumptions. From conversations about Japan, Jamaica, Black British identity, American culture, and the dangers of shallow labels, this episode highlights the importance of listening before speaking. We also talk about entrepreneurship, content creation, AI, quality versus speed, and the pressure creators face to constantly produce more. Coach Wright and I explore why meaningful work requires patience, nuance, mastery, and discernment instead of simply racing to publish, post, or perform. This episode is for listeners interested in Christian self-improvement, cultural identity, travel, podcasting, social media, Biblical wisdom, and learning how to live with more awareness in a distracted world. episode Through The Lamentations: Survival To Thrival 3 (Perseverance) cover

Through The Lamentations: Survival To Thrival 3 (Perseverance)

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2093758/fan_mail/new] Today, I share the launch of Survival to Thrival, Volume Three: The Book of Perseverance, the final book in the Survival to Thrival trilogy. After reflecting on The Book of Courage and The Book of Forgiveness, I explain why this book focuses on a deeply personal heartbreak that shaped my growth, faith, discipline, and emotional resilience. In this solo episode, I read and discuss my chapter “Through The Lamentations,” a reflection on heartbreak, grief, and the long process of learning how to move forward when someone you love becomes part of the future you were building and then leaves. I connect the idea of lamentation to the biblical book of Lamentations, the ministry of Jeremiah, and the deeper meaning of sorrow that goes beyond ordinary sadness. This episode explores how perseverance is not always immediate strength or cinematic resilience. Sometimes perseverance begins as survival. Sometimes it looks like crying in the car, losing your appetite, struggling to work, leaning on community, and slowly rebuilding your sense of purpose. Through this story, I discuss three major factors that help move a person from survival to thrival: community support, renewed purpose, and cultivating lessons from hardship. I also talk about how pain can become part of your identity without destroying you. This episode is for anyone walking through heartbreak, grief, loss, depression, emotional exhaustion, or a painful season that seems to be lasting longer than expected. Perseverance is not always about instantly overcoming. Sometimes it is about continuing forward, one small step at a time, until survival becomes healing, healing becomes growth, and growth becomes thrival. Mr. Whiskey's 2026 Birthday Reflections: Never Too Young To Be An Entrepreneur

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2093758/fan_mail/new] In the spirit of my 24th birthday (which may or may not surprise some) I reflect on youth and entrepreneurism. I talk about some of the great success that I have accomplished at a young age but also some of the difficulties, like belittlement, assumptions, and denial. My reflection includes Biblical references to historical figures who made impact at a young age, to include Samuel, David, Solomon, Josiah, and Daniel. Then, I follow those references up with two vital quotes on youth and ability from Jeremiah 1:4-10 and 1 Timothy 4:12. episode What A Flamingo's Birth And Diet Teaches Us About Faith & Following Jesus cover

What A Flamingo's Birth And Diet Teaches Us About Faith & Following Jesus

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2093758/fan_mail/new] Today, I use the surprising science of flamingos to teach a simple but powerful biblical lesson about sin, grace, spiritual nourishment, and transformation through Yeshua (Jesus). Flamingos are not born pink- they are born gray or whitish, and their vibrant color comes from what they continually consume. In the same way, humanity is born into the grayness of a fallen world, shaped by sin, brokenness, and inherited corruption.  In this Radiating Faith sermon, I connect that flamingo transformation to key passages such as Romans 5:12, Psalm 51:5, Ecclesiastes 7:20, Romans 3:23, John 6:35, John 15:5, Galatians 5:22-23, and Ephesians 2:1-5. I discuss how Yeshua is the bread of life, the vine, and the source of the spiritual nourishment we need. The fruit of the Spirit becomes the visible evidence of what is happening within us when we abide in Him.  This episode also addresses the danger of appearing spiritually vibrant without true inward transformation. Some people paint themselves pink while remaining gray on the inside, using religious appearance, public performance, or false teaching to mislead others. True holiness is not manufactured by human effort but is actually produced by continual relationship with Yeshua, obedience to His Word, and the work of the Holy Spirit.  I also discuss why yesterday’s spiritual meal is not enough for today’s walk. A flamingo does not remain vibrant because of one past meal, and Christians do not remain spiritually strong by relying only on one past prayer, one past sermon, or one past moment of repentance. This sermon is a call to examine our spiritual diet and ask whether we are feeding on the things of God or the cravings of the world.  Website: https://coupleonukes.com [https://coupleonukes.com/] Exodus, Honor Your Heart, & Nulu Knives: https://www.coupleonukes.com/affiliates/ [https://www.coupleonukes.com/affiliates/] Want to be a guest on Couple O' Nukes? Chronic Pain Warrior: A Young Man's Life Completely Altered By A Single Injury

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2093758/fan_mail/new] Today, I sit down with Davis Bain, the author of Chronic Pain Warrior, to discuss his life-changing journey through post-concussion syndrome, chronic pain, faith, and rebuilding after loss. Mr. Bain shares how one unexpected hit to the head during Air Force ROTC physical training changed the course of his future, ending his expected path toward a Space Force commission and forcing him to confront a new reality of brain fog, migraines, light sensitivity, depression, and daily physical limitations. In this episode, Mr. Bain explains what it is like to live with post-concussion syndrome after a traumatic brain injury, including the frustration of being told by doctors to “give it more time” while his symptoms continued to worsen. We discuss the grief of losing a planned career, the isolation that can come with chronic illness, and the mental health challenges that many people face when their body no longer allows them to live the life they once expected. Mr. Bain also shares how his Christian faith was challenged by suffering, especially when well-meaning people offered poor theology around healing, pain, and God’s purpose. He talks about reading Scripture from Genesis to Revelation, wrestling with the sovereignty of God, and learning that God can use suffering without abandoning the person who suffers. Together, we discuss why the church must become better at weeping with those who weep instead of rushing to fix, correct, or minimize their pain. We also highlight Mr. Bain’s book, Chronic Pain Warrior, which is written for people living with chronic pain, traumatic brain injuries, mental health struggles, and the friends and family members who want to support them well. https://www.chronicpainwarrior.com/ Website: https://coupleonukes.com [https://coupleonukes.com/] Exodus, Honor Your Heart, & Nulu Knives: https://www.coupleonukes.com/affiliates/ [https://www.coupleonukes.com/affiliates/] Want to be a guest on Couple O' Nukes?
